Why Running
"Fighting for working families, consumer protections, and small businesses in the House of Representatives has been the honor of a lifetime. I am running to be your next Colorado State Treasurer to support small businesses, and fight hard to save hard-working Coloradans money. I will leverage my extensive knowledge, education, experience, and bold ideas to support both the state and working individuals to address the challenges plaguing Colorado’s financial situation posed by TABOR, promote financial literacy, identify innovative methods to utilize our funds more efficiently and effectively, protect PERA and ensure Coloradans will have a secure financial future in which to retire.
I’m a true public servant, not a politician. I’m not taking corporate PAC money because a Treasurer should only answer to YOU, the people. What has prepared me for this role has been years of education, a rich life experience in a variety of industries, and a humble upbringing. This is the only office I’ve considered serving after my term in the House, and I’m ready to serve once again."
Policy Positions
Government Efficiency and Transparency: Prioritize transparent, responsible investment of taxpayer dollars while reducing waste and streamlining state financial operations so government works more efficiently and maintains public trust.
Retirement Security & PERA: Protect and strengthen PERA (Public Employees’ Retirement Association) to ensure long‑term solvency for public employees, while expanding retirement savings options so every Colorado worker has a secure path to retirement.
TABOR: Adress the structural challenges created by TABOR while maintaining a balanced budget and promoting strategic, flexible financial planning that supports essential community services.
Unclaimed Property Access: Focus on returning more than $2 billion in unclaimed property to Coloradans by modernizing outreach, simplifying the process, and ensuring faster, more transparent access to what residents are owed.
