Why Running
I’m John Padora—working dad, engineer, and the bold Democrat ready to defeat Lauren Boebert. I’m running to give working families a real voice again - to fight for people, not the elites, and to take our country back from the politicians who sold it out.
Policy Positions
Tax Fairness: Close corporate loopholes and implement a fair tax on extreme wealth while ending tax breaks for price‑gouging companies, using the savings to lower everyday costs and enforce results‑driven budgeting.
Manufacturing: Rebuild American manufacturing by investing in high‑tech industries, reshoring critical supply chains, and offering incentives that create skilled, good‑paying jobs and protect workers from unfair trade practices.
Rural Communities: Strengthen rural communities through major investments in broadband, infrastructure, schools, and workforce training while ensuring fair markets and protections for family farms.
Social Security: Protect and expand Social Security by lifting the payroll tax cap, opposing benefit cuts or retirement‑age increases, and safeguarding disability and survivor benefits.
Foreign Policy: Lead with diplomacy instead of endless military intervention, reduce wasteful defense spending, deepen global cooperation, and fully support veterans through strong VA healthcare and mental health services.
Government Integrity: Restore trust in government by banning corporate PAC money, instituting term limits, and enforcing strict accountability for insider trading.
Healthcare: Expand access to affordable care through a public option, lower prescription drug costs, strengthen rural healthcare, and eliminate surprise medical billing.
Drug Policy & Public Health: Legalize marijuana federally, decriminalize non‑violent possession, treat substance use disorder as a public health issue, and invest in treatment, recovery, and expungement of low‑level convictions.
Clean Energy & Climate Action: Accelerate the transition to renewable, community‑owned clean energy to lower costs, create jobs, and ensure long‑term American energy independence.
Education: Make community college and trade programs tuition‑free, invest in strong public K–12 schools, relieve predatory student debt, and expand pathways to upward mobility.
Water: Secure federal investment for modern water systems, protect water supplies from contamination and overuse, and ensure fair, sustainable access to this essential resource.
Agriculture: Support farmers with fair pricing, anti‑monopoly protections, crop insurance, conservation programs, rural water infrastructure, and investments that empower the next generation of producers.
Reproductive Healthcare: Codify nationwide access to reproductive choice, protect affordable reproductive healthcare, and oppose efforts to restrict or ban abortion.
Constitutional Rights: Uphold responsible gun ownership for law‑abiding citizens, defend free speech and digital privacy, and ensure due process and equal protection under the law.
