Edie Hooton
Why Running
"The University of Colorado is a core institution for our state and it remains a critical part of our identity as a region committed to fostering innovation and education. Because of CU, Colorado has some of the highest levels of education in the country.
As a three-term state legislator from Boulder, I know the importance of CU to our community. As legislator I fought for higher education funding and greater affordability for all of Colorado’s kids. That’s why CU awarded me “State Legislator of the Year.” Our community must fight to protect higher education funding, academic freedom and university autonomy from a Trump Administration desperate for ways to attack Colorado."
