Colorado uses a system of primaries, caucuses and assemblies to select the candidates who will appear on November’s general election ballot. Colorado primary elections are June 30, 2026. The caucuses and assemblies help determine who will appear on the ballot.
To earn a spot on the June primary ballot, candidates must either receive support from at least 30% of the delegates at the relevant assembly (County, Congressional District or State), or gather sufficient registered voter signatures through a petition.
Caucuses and assemblies are YOUR OPPORTUNITY to make sure that candidates representing your values are on the June ballot.
Only registered democrats can participate in the Democratic Party's caucuses and assemblies. All registered voters can participate in the primaries but unaffiliated voters must choose in which party's primary they are going to participate.

For races other than president, the Democratic party uses a caucus and assembly process to nominate candidates. To participate in the 2026 caucuses, you must be a registered Democratic voter by February 9, 2026. You must attend the County Caucus to be a delegate at the County Assembly and you must attend the County Assembly to be a delegate at the Congressional District or State Assembly.
County Caucuses:Â County Caucuses are held first. Voters within each precinct elect precinct organizers (POs) as well as delegates to attend the County Assemblies. Precincts are allocated 2-5 delegates based on the number of Democrats in that precinct who voted in the 2024 election.
Larimer County Precinct Caucus: Thursday, March 5 from 5:00-8:00pm (sign up here)
Weld County Precinct Caucus: Saturday, March 7 from 9:00am-noon (sign up here)
County Assembly: County Assemblies follow the caucuses. At the County Assembly, delegates vote for primary candidates for county-level offices and select delegates to the Congressional District Assemblies and the State Assembly.
Larimer County Assembly: March 7 9:00am - 1:00pm (delegates will receive a virtual link)
Weld County Assembly: Saturday, March 14 starting at 9am at the Doubletree by Hilton in Greeley, CO
Congressional District Assemblies for CD2, CD4 and CD8: Congressional District Assemblies will be held March 26. If you are elected Delegate to one of these districts from the County Assembly, you will receive an Official Call from the Colorado Democratic Party with details.
State Assembly:Â The State Assembly is March 28 and will be held in Pueblo, CO. At the State Assembly, the delegates vote on candidates for state level offices, including U.S. Senate, Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General and Treasurer.
We hope everyone in the IndivisibleNOCO community will participate. Civic engagement is always important and this year it is more important than ever. The future of our country depends on YOU!
