This is another voter suppression attempt that adds more complexity to the voting process for no reason. Voter fraud in our elections is astonishingly low. And every Coloradan shows ID when they register. 
 

Any problems with the SSN or driver’s license number would mean the ballot could not be counted. 
 

The Bell Policy Center says, “These kinds of voter ID requirements do nothing to improve election security…However, they do create new barriers to voting for eligible voters who may not have certain forms of ID, including people who are older, low-income, live in rural areas, disabled, and are from communities of color.”
 

This is yet another initiative supported by Advance Colorado, a right-wing “dark money” group that sponsors a large number of conservative ballot initiatives in Colorado.
